Dealing with protest songs earlier this year, the English group 5A/Brgl decided to write a poem about school life as their contribution to a working school community. The students got together in groups and identified the main issues students might face every day at school and wrote stanzas using some stylistic features such as pars pro toto and the metaphor. I found the task very good because we were allowed to try something new. I think we now know a little more about what makes a poem. (Sarah, 5A)
