Change Happens

Dealing with protest songs earlier this year, the English group 5A/Brgl decided to write a poem about school life as their contribution to a working school community. The students got together in groups and identified the main issues students might face every day at school and wrote stanzas using some stylistic features such as pars pro toto and the metaphor. The following are some contributions from the group members:

I found the task very good because we were allowed to try something new. I think we now know a little more about what makes a poem. (Sarah, 5A)

Working on the poem was very interesting because it was some kind of variation of the usual lessons. We are now quite motivated to go and speak our opinion… (Daniel, 5A)
